Patient kits – from CO2 removal to adequate oxygenation
Our preconfigured patient kits consist of an oxygenator, tubings, the DP3 pump head and integrated pressure sensors (IPS). They enable treatments of acute and chronic heart and lung failure. From neonates up to adults.
All blood-contact surfaces of our patient kits are coated with the x.ellence® coating. This multi-layer coating is made of heparin and albumin.

Novalung kits

The Novalung kit is a pump-driven medical device which enables the extracorporeal blood gas exchange of carbon dioxide and oxygen by diffusion across a gas-permeable and plasma-tight polymethylpentene (PMP) membrane, as well as temperature control of blood by a heat exchanger compartment.
The Novalung kit has integrated pressure sensors (IPS) which are used to monitor the blood pressure inside the extracorporeal circuit.
Novalung kits are available in different sizes and configurations. They are certified* for an application period for up to 29 days and enable treatment of acute and chronic heart and lung failure:
- XLung kit 230
- MiniLung kit ¼“
- MiniLung petite kit

iLA activve kits

iLA activve XLung kit
The iLA activve XLung kit is a pump-driven system which enables the extracorporeal blood gas exchange of carbon dioxide and oxygen by diffusion across a gas-permeable and plasma-tight polymethylpentene (PMP) membrane, as well as temperature control of blood.

iLA membrane ventilator
The iLA membrane ventilator is a pumpless extracorporeal gas exchange device consisting of a membrane lung and inlet and outlet tubes. It is intended to provide extracorporeal pulmonary assist. The gas inflow of the membrane lung is usually connected to an oxygen supply. The device can only be used in an arterio-venous mode because it utilizes the arterio-venous pressure gradient as the driving force for the blood passing through the extracorporeal circuit.
Only one vascular access is needed to combine lung and renal support for patient treatment.

iLA activve iLA kit
The iLA activve iLA kit is used in pump driven extracorporeal cardiac or pulmonary support where the primary goal is oxygenation and CO2 elimination. Depending on the clinical need of the patient the devices can be used in a veno-venous or veno-arterial mode.
Only one vascular access is needed to combine lung and renal support for patient treatment.

iLA activve iLA kit IPS
The iLA activve iLA kit IPS is used in pump driven extracorporeal cardiac or pulmonary support where the primary goal is oxygenation and CO2 elimination. Depending on the clinical need of the patient the device can be used in a veno-venous or veno-arterial mode. The iLA activve iLA kit IPS has Integrated Pressure Sensors (IPS) which are used to monitor the blood pressure inside the extracorporeal circuit.
Only one vascular access is needed to combine lung and renal support for patient treatment.
i-cor puls kit

The i-cor puls kit is used in pump driven extracorporeal cardiac or pulmonary support with the primary goal of oxygenation and CO2 elimination. The i-cor puls kit is deployed in veno-arterial mode in patients with serious cardiac failure.
The pulsatile blood flow of the i-cor puls kit may help in augmenting the cardiac output with well oxygenated blood in the diastole and reducing the afterload in the systole.[1] This pulsatile mode is achieved by ECG synchronization to the patients heartbeat – which is used in our synchronized cardiac support treatment.**
**Clinical trials to generate evidence for synchronized cardiac support treatment are scheduled. Data from preclinical studies is available.
The video explains the principle of physical gas exchange using a Novalung XLung kit as an example.
